Chemex filters are made from North American pine trees. The trees used to make the paper are responsibly harvested and comply with the Forest Stewardship Council, Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification sustainability programs. The white color comes from oxygen cleaning, not chlorine bleaching.
