The CLARIS filter cartridge contains a layer of natural active ingredients in its lower section that stabilize the water in the reservoir, thus reducing limescale buildup. The system operates without any additional energy or effort: thanks to the natural movement of water within the reservoir, it continuously flows through the layer of active ingredients. With its activated carbon composition, the CLARIS filter cartridge always utilizes the principle of upward flow. Through ion exchange, its upper section filters precisely the amount of water needed for a perfect cup of coffee.
Thanks to RFID technology, the coffee machine detects the presence of a filter and automatically activates the corresponding mode. It continuously collects information on filter usage and indicates when the filter is depleted. Replacing the filter has never been easier, and the CLARIS Pro Smart+ thus delivers optimal efficiency.

Automatic filter detection
To enable communication between the filter and the coffee machine, JURA uses modern RFID technology. The machine automatically detects the presence of a filter thanks to the Intelligent Water System (IWS®). It then automatically switches to filter mode and starts rinsing. When the filter capacity is depleted, the coffee machine indicates that it will soon need replacing. If this isn't done, the machine activates descaling mode. It will then prompt you to descale after the specified usage period. To perform this operation, the filter must be removed. No more handling errors due to misunderstandings.
